Welcome
Welcome to Vickie's Learning Center. Our website will help parents make informed decisions about in-home child care, and what our facility can offer for the development and well-being of your child. We also provide a list of food that will be served for the week so that parents can share food experiences at home.
VLC believes in having the highest standards in the Early Childhood Field and utilizes all resources to make it attain those standards.
VLC achieved the Silver Circle of Quality through ExceleRate Illinois in May of 2016. ExceleRate Illinois replaced the Quality Star Quality Rating System (QRS) in which we were rated 3 Stars in October of 2013.
VLC was Nationally Accredited in November 2014 from the National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC) . Per NAFCC, significant research has provided evidence that warm, loving and home-like settings are natural environments for children during early childhood. While offering the safety and comfort of home, and providing a consistent caregiver throughout the years, family child care is the care choice for many parents.
NAFCC accreditation is an indicator that this family child care offers safe, inviting spaces and warm, nurturing care complete with educational activities designed to meet the needs and interests of all children while promoting individual development. This family child care meets the high standards that reflects a high level of quality through a process that examines all aspects of the family child care program, i.e. relationships, the environment, developmental learning activities, safety and health, and professional and business practices.
Miss Vickie completed her Bachelor Degree in Early Education in June of 2012 and consistently goes through training as well as those involved with VLC.
VLC serves children from infant through school age. We understand the importance of making a decision about who should care for your child outside of your home. We encourage you to browse our website before contacting us for an appointment for a facility tour. We also encourage you to arrange for an interview to discuss our program and how developmental needs are addressed.
If you would like to visit us and tour our home, please contact us for an appointment. We would love to discuss your day care needs.
